This sermon explores Jesus’ prayer for His disciples spoken in the intimacy of the upper room on the night before His arrest. As Jesus prays not for the world but for those the Father has given Him, we see His desire that His followers would remain one in the face of coming persecution. By stepping into the disciples’ perspective, we discover how this prayer shaped their unity, sustained them through suffering, and was ultimately answered in their witness to the resurrection. Because they remained one, the good news of Jesus reached the world and reaches us today.
